Grove Estate was established by the Flanders, Kirkwood and Mullany families the Hilltops region near Young in 1989. Grape growing at Hilltops goes back to the gold boom of the 1860s. As it turns out the moderate, cool climate and red granite soils are perfectly suited to viticulture. Complex wines with bright flavours and clear varietal characters are the rule here.
The 2018 Murringo Way Chardonnay sees a return to using 20% Malolatic fermentation with 40% new French oak.
This wine has a lovely fresh peachy bouquet. The acid balance is naturally refreshing and with the malo influence the palate is superb and well rounded. This is a Chardonnay that is suitable to be drunk young and fresh or if you would prefer to be cellared for up to 10 years. Enjoy!
